President Abbas, Egypt‘s Sisi hold talks in Cairo

 

CAIRO, Sunday, April 21, 2019 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas held talks on Sunday with his Egyptian counterpart Abdul-Fattah el-Sisi in Cairo.

During the meeting, President Abbas briefed the Egyptian President on the latest developments in the Palestinian cause in light of the current challenges, especially after Israel disavowed all signed agreements and cut Palestinian tax revenues.

He also reviewed the leadership‘s plans to face these challenges so as to preserve the national cause and strengthen the steadfastness of the Palestinian people.

The President praised the efforts of Egypt and President Sisi, highlighting the importance of continuing the coordination and communication between the two countries.

For his part, the Egyptian president stressed the deeply rooted relations between the two countries, asserting his country‘s support until the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

The two leaders agreed to maintain mutual coordination and communication.

President arrived in Egypt on Saturday for an official visit during which he will attend the meeting of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level to discuss the grave situation in the Palestinian territories.
