Students suffocate as Israeli forces fire teargas at Hebron school

HEBRON, Sunday, April 21, 2019 (WAFA) – Dozens of students and teachers suffocated today from teargas fired by Israeli forces in the vicinity of a school in the southern West Bank city of Hebron.

WAFA correspondent said that Israeli soldiers fired dozens of teargas canisters inside the Hebron Basic School, causing many suffocation cases among the students and teachers from gas inhalation.

Those who suffocated were treated at the scene.

Almost every day, Israeli soldiers harass students in their way to school in the area and provoke clashes with them, during which the soldiers usually fire teargas canisters and stun grenades against them.

The school is one of nine Palestinian schools located in the H2 area of Hebron, which falls under Israel’s civil and military control. School children have to pass through military checkpoints in the H2 area to access their schools.
