HEBRON, Monday, November 05, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Monday raided an elementary school in Masafer Yatta, in the south Hebron hills, kicked its students and teachers out and informed the administration of the intention to demolish it under the pretext it was built without permit, said a local activist.
Coordinator of the Anti-Wall and Anti-Settlements Committee, Rateb Jabour, said that Israeli forces stormed Khalat al-Dabe school, built of caravans to accommodate area youngsters, and forced its 12 students and staff to leave it. He said the military also handed the staff a notice for demolition of the school.
Meanwhile, soldiers also raided Khirbet al-Mufaqara, another Masafer Yatta village, and handed demolition orders for three residential structures.
A similar demolition order was issued for a room adjacent to a cave in Khirbet Sarura where anti-settlements and foreign solidarity activists were staying.
Masafer Yatta is classified as Area C, which is under full Israeli military control. Area C makes up around 60 percent of the area of the occupied West Bank, which Israel plans to annex after expelling its Palestinian population.
