Palestinians injured as hundreds of settlers raid Joseph’s Tomb in Nablus

NABLUS, Wednesday, November 7, 2018 (WAFA) – At least 20 Palestinians were injured during clashes that broke out after hundreds of Israeli settlers forced their way into Joseph’s Tomb in the northern West Bank city of Nablus under heavy Israeli military protection, according to security sources.

Hundreds of fanatic Jewish settlers broke into the site, located in the Palestinian-controlled area, where they performed religious rituals as Israeli forces provided them with protection, provoking Palestinian residents and leading to clashes.

Israeli forces used tear gas bombs and rubber-coated steel  bullets towards dozens of Palestinians who protested the raid and attempted to block settlers’ access to the site, causing injuries to at least 20 Palestinians and setting fire to a nearby auto parts shop.

A youth sustained a fracture to the hand, while another was injured by shrapnel from live fire. Both were taken to the Rafidia hospital in Nablus for medical treatment.

Four others were struck with rubber bullets, in addition to 14 suffocation cases due to tear gas inhalation, according to head of the Palestinian Red Crescent emergency department, Ahmad Jibril. They were all treated at the scene.
