RAMALLAH, January 15, 2018 (WAFA) – Nabil Abu Rudeineh, spokesman for President Mahmoud Abbas, said on Monday that the strength of the Palestinian position towards Jerusalem has succeeded in foiling the biased US policy, exposed the conspiracy against Jerusalem, the core and title of the Palestinian cause, and foiled free normalization, which goes against the Arab Peace Initiative.

“Everyone is now required to stand united in the face of the attack on the Palestinian cause, particularly Jerusalem with its Islamic and Christian holy places, which necessitated the convening of the Central Council to take decisions that live up to the seriousness of the period,” Abu Rudeineh said in a statement.

He pointed out that “the critical stage facing the Palestinian issue and the region requires a change in prevailing notions by some regarding the basic nature of the conflict with the Israeli occupation as the main contradiction and what some want to pass to serve rejected projects by focusing on non-nationalist agendas that does not serve the cause and national interest.”

Abu Rudeineh said “the strength of the Palestinian position on Jerusalem and the Judaization it is facing and the alteration to its character was reflected by the convening of the Central Council on the Palestinian land, which emphasizes the Palestinian national decision and its independence. This is a message that everyone, at home, in the region and in the world has to understand.”
