BETHLEHEM, June 23, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli soldiers opened fire and injured on Saturday a Palestinian man at an Israeli army checkpoint north of Bethlehem, according to a Palestinian Security source.
He told WAFA that Maher Thalji Jradat, 34, from the town of Sair, north of Hebron, was shot in the leg and injured at what is known as “Container” checkpoint.
Jradat was left at the sidewalk near the checkpoint for over one hour while the army has refused to allow Palestinian medics or ambulances to attend to him until an Israeli army ambulance arrived at the scene and took him away into custody.
Reason for shooting Jradat was not immediately clear, but some unconfirmed reports said he was shot for arguing with the soldiers at the checkpoint.
