RAMALLAH, August 10, 2017 (WAFA) – Fatah Central Committee called Thursday for convening a new session for the Palestinian National Council (PNC), the highest Palestinian decision making body, with the participation of all parties saying the decision when and where it will be held will be made by the PLO’s Executive Committee.

Fatah’s deputy chairman Mahmoud Aloul told Voice of Palestine radio that the Central Committee recommended in its meeting held in Ramallah on Wednesday to include members of the civil society and independents in the dialogue on the convening of the PNC.

It also decided to form committees to discuss the political program the PNC is expected to announce at the conclusion of its meeting as well as its composition.

He said he expects all political factions that are members in the PNC to attend the session, pointing out that there is still no clear position from Hamas in this regard.

Aloul stressed that Hamas should not be allowed to waste more time in light of the challenges facing the Palestinian cause.

He said the final decision on the PNC meeting and when would the invitations be sent out will be made by the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) when it meets in Ramallah on Saturday.
