Health of Palestinian hunger-striking detainee in Israeli jail is very critical, says prisoner’s society

RAMALLAH, Monday, May 27, 2019 (WAFA) – The health condition of Palestinian detainee Hasan Ewaiwi has become severally critical after being on a hunger strike for 56 days in protest of his administrative detention without charge or trial in Israeli jails, said the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

PPS said the health status of Ewaiwi, who is currently being hospitalized in Kaplan Medical Center (KMC) in Israel, has reached a very critical stage.

Ewaiwi, a 35-year-old father of three children, was detained on January 15, 2019 and had spent years in Israeli detention.

PPS noted that three other prisoners are continuing their hunger strike for the same reason.  They were identified as Tha’er Bader, 43, Bassam Abu ‘Aker, and Ahmad al-Hroub, 30.
