RAMALLAH, Monday, July 22, 2019 (WAFA) – Fatah Central Committee said today that Israel is committing a war crime and ethnic cleansing against Palestinians in Wadi al-Hummos area in Sur Baher in the occupied city of Jerusalem, adding to its black record of successive crimes against human rights, land and holy places, particularly in Jerusalem, the eternal capital of the State of Palestine.

It added that this crime comes under total US support for the Israeli settlement projects, which is a natural result of the illegal US decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, while ignoring all international resolutions that consider East Jerusalem as occupied territories like the rest of the Palestinian territories, and therefore the US administration bears responsibility for this crime as much as Israel.

Fatah pointed out that this crime against Palestinians in Jerusalem is a threat that calls for a solid Arab stance as well as abandoning the illusions of US solutions calling for normalization of relations with Israel at the expense of the rights of the Palestinian people and the interests of the Arab nation.

It added that the international community, represented by the UN Security Council, demands immediate action to force Israel to stop its crimes, and to adopt a decision to impose deterrent sanctions against it if it does not respect its obligations under international law as an occupying power.

It stressed that these crimes will not deter Palestinians from remaining steadfast and will not compel them to change their rejection of the so-called "Deal of the Century" and all that has resulted from it.
