JENIN, Friday, October 11, 2019 (WAFA) – A Palestinian young man sustained moderate to serious injuries today after he was shot by Israeli occupation forces near the village of Barta’a, to the west of Jenin in the occupied West Bank, medical sources said.
The Palestinian Red Crescent said Ahmad Bassam Kmail, 25, was directly shot and injured in the hand and thigh bone by Israeli soldiers manning Barta’a checkpoint near the village. He was rushed to Khalil Sulaiman Hospital in Jenin for treatment.
The Israeli occupation forces did not issue an official statement declaring the reason for the shooting.
Israeli soldiers routinely target Palestinians on the mere suspicion of posing a threat to their lives. Yesterday, a Palestinian man was injured after he was shot by soldiers on the same checkpoint, and without a reason being stated for the shooting.
