JERUSALEM, March 15, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Wednesday detained a total of 31 Palestinians during multiple predawn raids across a number of West Bank districts, said Palestine Prisoner’s Society.
Israeli police detained 12 Palestinians, mostly members of the Matar family, after storming their family homes across East Jerusalem.
This came two days after Ibrahim Matar, 25, was killed by police after he allegedly attempted to stab soldiers in the vicinity of the Lions’ Gate (Bab al-Asbat).
Elsewhere in the southern West Bank, forces detained two Palestinians after ransacking their homes in Duheisha refugee camp, south of Bethlehem.
Meanwhile, three Palestinians were detained during raids across Hebron city in the southern West Bank.
Forces conducted similar raids into Beit Kahel, north of Hebron, where they ransacked and wreaked havoc inside several homes.
Other three Palestinians were handcuffed and detained during a predawn raid into Beit Ummar town, north of Hebron.
WAFA reporter said troops broke into and ransacked a home during the raid, breaking windows, room doors and kitchen cabinetry purportedly searching for arms.
He added they “provocatively” ransacked the home, deliberately causing extensive damage and sparking a verbal altercation with homeowners.
In the meantime, forces detained two Palestinians during separate raids into Deir Ghassana and Nabi Saleh villages, northwest of Ramallah, in the central West Bank.
Similar raids were conducted across Ramallah and al-Bireh districts, where four Palestinians were detained.
In the northern West Bank, forces nabbed two Palestinians during a raid into Tell town, northwest of Nablus.
A similar raid were conducted into Rummana village, west of Jenin, where two former Palestinian prisoners were detained.
WAFA reporter said troops declared the village a closed military zone, setting up checkpoints at entrances and preventing villagers from accessing their work.
Elsewhere in the northern West Bank, forces detained a Palestinian during a raid into Qarawat Bani-Hassan village, northwest of Salfit.
