Israeli Forces Detain 23 Palestinians from West Bank

HEBRON, January 14, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli forces overnight detained 23 Palestinians, including at least three minors, mostly during predawn raids into several West Bank districts, said Palestine Prisoners’ Society (PPS).

Israeli soldiers detained 12 Palestinians from Hebron, three from Tulkarem, six from Jenin, Ramallah and Jerusalem, another four from Nablus and one from Salfit.

The 12 Palestinian detainees from Hebron were identified as Kamil al-Junidi, 26, Hussam Abu Hussein, Fares al-Rajabi, 20, Ibrahim Qasrawi, Muhammad Hasaniya, 17, Mus?ab, 20, and Yasser, 24, Hakam, and Zawadi al-Shalalda, Muhammad al-Za‘aqiq, 19, ‘Imad al-Atrash, and Tha’er al-Qawasmi, 30.

Forces also detained three Palestinians from Tulkarem. They were identified as Muhammad ‘Abdldayim, 20, Shadi Melhem, 27, and Naser Sabbah, 23.

Two Palestinians identified as Muhammad Fraihat, 29, and Fadi Samudi, 26, from Jenin district in the northern West Bank.

Furthermore, soldiers stationed at Jaba‘ checkpoint detained two Palestinian minors identified as Jibril, 17, and ‘Alki Tawam, 15.

Two Palestinians were also detained by Israeli police in Jerusalem. They were identified as Ahmad Rukn, 18, and Mahmoud Abu Khdeir, 36.

Two more Palestinians identified as Waddah Barakat and Islam Salameh were detained from Nablus and Salfit in the northern West Bank.

This came as an Israeli forces summoned a Palestinian during a predawn raid into Bethlehem.

Zahiya al-Masri, 45, was handed a notice ordering her to turn herself to Israeli intelligence.

Zahiya’s son, Hamza, has been held in Israeli detention since January 4.
