Israeli Forces Demolish House Under-Construction, Retaining Walls in Hebron

HEBRON, January 14, 2015 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Thursday morning demolished a Palestinian house under-construction, retaining walls and uprooted olive trees and vineyards in Beit Ummar town, north of Hebron, said a local activist.

Muhammad Awad, who monitors Israeli settlement construction in southern West Bank, told WAFA escorting a bulldozer, Israeli forces and ‘Civil Administration’ officers broke into the Beit Ummar locality of Beit Za‘ta, adjacent to the road connecting Hebron and Jerusalem.

They proceeded to tear down a Palestinian house under-construction belonging to Youssef Abu Maria under the pretext of unlicensed building.

Israeli forces also broke into Khallit Abu Suda, a locality to the east of the town and brought down cement retaining walls surrounding a plot of land and uprooted olive trees and vineyards. 

The landowner was identified as Saleh Jawabra from al-‘Arrub refugee camp.

Soldiers also demolished a chicken farm occupying an area of 700 square meters in the same locality. The farm belonged to Khalid al-Samahin from al-‘Arrub camp.
