RAMALLAH, Tuesday, March 17, 2020 (WAFA) – A low pressure is set to affect the region today, causing temperature to plummet and paving the way to partially cloudy to cloudy, cold to very cold and occasionally dusty conditions, said the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).
Scattered rainfall along with occasional thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon and night hours. Active southwesterly to westerly wind prevails in daytime, and becomes light to moderate in nighttime. Sea waves are high.
Temperature in Jerusalem and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 13°C and a low of 6°C and in Ramallah and Hebron, a high of 12°C and a low of 5°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea and the Jordan Valley, temperature is expected to reach a high of 22°C and a low of 12°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 18°C and a low of 9°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.
Wednesday’s temperature is set to further significantly drop, paving the way to cloudy and cold to very cold conditions. Scattered rainfall continue on several districts, with rainfall waning towards night.
Thursday’s temperature is set to remain unseasonably low, with partially cloudy to cloudy and cold to very cold conditions. Scattered rainfall are still expected on most districts, particularly in the north and central districts.
Partially cloudy to cloudy skies are expected to continue for Friday as temperature further drops and approaches 6°C lower than its annual average. Scattered rainfall with thunderstorms are still expected on several districts.
PMD warns people against gusty winds which could reach 80 km/h, floods in flood-prone areas, low horizontal visibility and slippery roads.
