GAZA, Saturday, March 30, 2019 (WAFA) – Mohammad Jihad Saad, 20, became the first casualty of the first anniversary of the March of Return protests in Gaza when he died this morning after being hit by shrapnel in the head fired by Israeli soldiers deployed on the other side of the Gaza fence with Israel, according to the Ministry of Health.
WAFA correspondent in Gaza said Saad was hit east of Gaza City and was taken to Shifa hospital where he was declared dead.
A million-person protest is expected today at the border with Israel marking Land Day and the first anniversary of the launch of the March of Return protests, which so far claimed the lives of more than 220 Palestinians and over 13,000 injured by Israel army gunfire.
