RAMALLAH, August 22, 2016 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian Arabic dailies focused on Monday on the Israeli aerial bombing which targeted a location near the town of Beit Hanoun, northeast of Gaza.
The dailies said the bombing resulted in the injury of four local Palestinians, whose cases were described as moderate.
On a different subject, the dailies quoted the Islamic-Christian Committee in Support of Jerusalem on the 47th anniversary of Al-Aqsa Mosque fire. The committee said: “Al-Aqsa is still burning until today by Israeli violations.”
The three dailies quoted the Jews for Justice for Palestinians, a pro-Palestinian jewish organization, as saying: “We have started to be ashamed of our Judaism because of the Israeli occupation”.
Al-Hayat Al-Jadida and Al-Ayyam reported that the Israeli authorities decided to demolish a house owned by a Palestinian detainee in Israeli Jails in the town of Dora, near Hebron. Israeli authorities accused Abdul Majid Amaira of carrying out a fire shooting attack in July which wounded an Israeli rabbi.
Al-Ayyam quoted an unidentified Palestinian official as saying: “Israel refuses to do any preliminary step to proceed to implement the French peace initiative”.
Al-Quds reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu refused to send an envoy to Cairo in order to thwart the French peace initiative.
Al-Ayyam said that the Israeli Internal Security Agency (Shabak) refused to release Palestinian detainees who were convicted of minor security cases.
