Ayman Nubani, WAFA photojournalist, receives treatment at an ambulance due to an injury from a rubber-coated bullet
QALQILIA, Friday, June 12, 2020 (WAFA) – At least five Palestinians, including three journalists, were injured today by Israeli occupation forces today during the weekly protest against Israeli settlement construction, in the village of Kafr Qaddum in the northern West Bank, local sources said.
Morad Shtewi, coordinator of the popular resistance in the village, told WAFA that Israeli soldiers attacked the protesters by rubber-coated rounds and teargas, injuring five of them, including journalists Ayman Nubani, the photojournalist of WAFA; Jaafar Shtayyeh, of the Agence France-Presse; and Fadi Jayyusi, of Palestine TV.
The injured were treated at the scene of the protest.
For years, villagers from Kafr Qaddum and neighboring villages have been protesting every Friday against illegal Israeli settlements, and to call on Israeli authorities to reopen the village’s main road which has been sealed off by the occupation authorities since 2002.
