Former Palestinian prisoner dies due to Israel’s medical negligence

RAMALLAH, May 2, 2017 (WAFA) – Former Palestinian prisoner in Israeli jails Mazen Mohammad Mughrabi, 45, died on Tuesday morning as a result of medical negligence by the Israel Prison Service, according to Essa Qaraqe, chairman of the Detainees and Ex-Detainees Commission.

Qaraqe said Mughrabi, who was released from Israeli prisons a few months ago after serving five years in Israeli jails, was one of the victims of Israel’s policy of medical negligence towards political Palestinian prisoners and detainees.

Qaqare added that due to this medical negligence, Mughrabi had been infected with multiple serious diseases, including kidney failure, by which he died.

Mughrabi, who comes from the city of Ramallah, is one of a series of political Palestinian prisoners and former prisoners who died due to the policy of medical negligence by the Israel Prison Service.
