Muslims Confront Jewish Extremists in Al-Aqsa Mosque

JERUSALEM, March 6, 2013 (WAFA) – Muslim worshippers Wednesday confronted Jewish fanatics who tried to perform religious rituals in al-Aqsa Mosque, one of Islam’s holiest sites in Jerusalem, according to witnesses.

They said students studying the Quran in the yards of al-Aqsa Mosque confronted the fanatics who attempted to hold Jewish rituals in the Muslim holy place.

Police intervened to prevent an outbreak of a fight and in the process pushed one 48-Palestinian man who fell and injured himself.

Police removed the fanatics from the area to calm down the situation and closed it for tourism.

Jewish fanatics, who enter the yards of al-Aqsa Mosque through the so-called visitors program, have intensified their provocative acts inside the Muslim site in recent weeks, which they claim is the site of the Jewish temple destroyed some 3000 years ago.
While they are not allowed to hold any rituals on the site during the visit, they often carry out religious ceremonies that normally provoke the Muslim worshippers.

Muslims fear that the fanatics aim to eventually take over the site to destroy the Muslim places and replace them with a Jewish temple.
