RAMALLAH, Tuesday, February 04, 2020 (WAFA) – Israeli forces today detained 12 Palestinians, including a mother of four, and injured two others in multiple West Bank raids, said the Palestine Prisoner Society (PPS).

It said in a press release that Israeli forces rounded up six Palestinians from the southern West Bank districts of Hebron.

Palestinian security sources elaborated that one of the six detainees, a resident of Dura town, is a former prisoner who spent 10 years behind Israeli bars.

They identified another as a National Security Forces officer from Sair town, and another as a mother of four from Idna town.

In Bethlehem district, Israeli military vehicles stormed Dheisheh refugee camp, where soldiers detained a Palestinian.

In Ramallah district, Israeli forces raided Beit Ur al-Tahta village, west of Ramallah, and rounded up two Palestinians, including a former prisoner.

In the northern West Bank, PPS said a predawn military raid in Izbit al-Tayyah village, east of Tulkarm city, resulting in the detention of a Palestinian.

Another man was rounded up in a raid of Deir al-Ghusun town, north of Tulkarm city.

In Jenin district, soldiers manning a flying checkpoint near Tubas stopped and brutally assaulted a Palestinian, inflicting bruises in his head and back. The man was identified as a resident of Qabatia town.

Meanwhile, PPS said that a Palestinian was detained in the ancient city of Jericho.

WAFA correspondent elaborated that the Palestinian was detained in a predawn raid that triggered confrontations in Aqbat Jabr refugee camp, south of Jericho city.

During ensuing confrontations, soldiers opened fire towards local youngsters blocking their passage, injuring two protestors with rubber-coated steel bullets.

Both casualties were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
