Information ministry criticizes visit by Arab journalists to Israel as normalization

RAMALLAH, Thursday, December 20, 2018 (WAFA) – The Ministry of Information criticized in a statement on Thursday a visit to Israel by seven Arab journalists from Egypt, Lebanon, Algeria and Morocco who work in France or Belgium, describing the visit as violation of the official Arab position against normalization of relations with Israel, the occupying power.

It said the visit came at the height of the brutal Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in the occupied territories.

The Ministry said the meeting of the seven with Israeli officials, particularly the president of the Israeli parliament who welcomed them warmly, and pro-Israel statements by some journalists expose the true nature of this visit and how it contributes to normalization with Israel while supporting the false Israeli narrative of the conflict with the Palestinians.

One of the journalists, Nader Allouche, a French-Lebanese, had written that “The resurrection of the Arabs will begin with the voluntary and unfeigned recognition of Israel.”

The Ministry called on the Federation of Arab Journalists and all parties that oppose normalization of relations with Israel to take a firm stand against these journalists, who clearly support the occupation and are in violation of Arab information ministers’ decisions against normalization with Israel while the world is actively pursuing boycott of the Israeli occupation.

The delegation started its three-day visit on Monday and was arranged by the Israeli embassy in France.
