GAZA, August 10, 2018 (WAFA) – At least two Palestinians, including volunteering paramedic Abdullah Qatati, were killed and about 240 protesters were injured by gunfire on Friday, as Israeli snipers continued to attack the ongoing Great March of Return protests at Gaza border, according to the Ministry of Health.

Qatati was providing first aid to the wounded east of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip, when he was critically injured by a gunshot in his head by an Israeli sniper. He died of his wounds a few minutes later.

The other protester who was killed was identified as Ali Saeed Aloul, 55. 

Israeli snipers, stationed at borderline watchtowers, opened gunfire at the protesters to disperse them, injuring 240 of them, some of them critically. The wounded include journalists and paramedics, in addition to children.

More than 159 Palestinians have been killed and 17500 others injured since the outbreak of the Gaza border protests on March 30. The protests call for ending the 12-year-long Israeli blockade of Gaza and for the right of return of the refugees.
