RAMALLAH, Wednesday, April 17, 2019 (WAFA) – Thousands of Palestinians rallied today throughout the occupied West Bank in support of the 6000 prisoners held in Israeli jails for resisting the occupation as they marked Palestinian Prisoner Day, which coincides today.

Rallies were held in Ramallah, Nablus, Jenin, Tulkarm, Qalqilya, Jericho, Toubas, Hebron, and Bethlehem, mainly at Red Cross offices, demanding freedom for the prisoners.

Speeches were made at the rallies by officials and former prisoners, who spoke on the importance of public support for the prisoners as they struggle to be treated with respect in the prisons considering that they were put there for their struggle for the liberation of Palestine from a wicked and cruel Israeli occupation that lasted for over 50 years.
