Israeli forces smash plants nursery in south of West Bank

BETHLEHEM, Thursday, April 30, 2020 (WAFA) – The Israeli military demolished today a nursery in a southern West Bank village under the pretext it was built without a permit, according to a local official.

Hasan Breijieh, director of the Wall and Settlements Resistance office in Bethlehem, told WAFA that soldiers raided Jourat al-Shamaa village, south of Bethlehem, and demolished an agricultural nursery owned by Mahmoud Abu Hammad.

He said the army has informed several other Palestinians in the Bethlehem district of plans to demolish their structures for construction without a permit.

The area in question is classified as C, according to the Oslo accords, which is under full Israeli military rule and makes up more than 60 percent of the area of the occupied West Bank where Palestinians are not allowed to develop or build anything.
