Israeli forces issue halt on construction orders in Masafer Yatta, south of West Bank

HEBRON, Tuesday, June 30, 2020 (WAFA) – Israeli forces today issued halt on construction orders against several structures in the villages of Tuwani and al-Mafqara in Masafer Yatta, in the south of the occupied West Bank.

WAFA correspondent said Israeli forces raided the village of Tuwani and handed a number of residents order to halt construction of structures, including a shack, a room, a house, a residential tent, a tin-sheet residential structure and a water well.

Moreover, the soldiers ordered the removal of two residential tents owned by two brothers in the village.

Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers gave a local resident from the village of al-Mafqara, east of Masafer Yatta, a notice including a halt on construction order against a tin-sheet residential structure inhabited by him and his family.

Mohammad Rabi, head of Tuwani village council, told WAFA that these notices aim to force Palestinians out of their legally owned lands to build new settlements on the land and expand already built illegal settlements.
