GAZA, Saturday, March 30, 2019 (WAFA) – At least two Palestinians were killed and at least 105 others injured today as thousands of Palestinians gathered at the east border of the Gaza Strip to mark the Land Day and the first anniversary of the Great March of Return.
The forces fired live bullets and rubber-coated steel rounds at the protesters who gathered at many encampments along the border, killing two protesters and injuring more than 120 others, many of them critically.
The killed protesters were identified by local sources as Adham Nedal Amara and Tamer Abul-Kheir, both 17 years old.
Some of the wounded were moved to hospital and others were treated in the field hospitals.
Palestinian factions have called for a million-person protest at the border with Israel marking Land Day and the first anniversary of the launch of the Great March of Return protests, which so far claimed the lives of more than 250 Palestinians and over 13,000 injured by Israel army gunfire.
More than 220 Palestinians have been killed and over 13,000 others injured by Israeli forces since the outbreak of the Great March of Return protests at Gaza border on March 30, 2018.
