JERUSALEM, Saturday, January 19, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli police intervened on behalf of Jewish settlers during a quarrel with Palestinian residents of Silwan, an Arab neighborhood of occupied East Jerusalem, early Saturday leaving four residents injured, according to the Silwan-based Wadi Hilweh Information Center.
It said the settlers harassed young residents who were in the street outside their homes, which developed into a quarrel between them before the Israeli police intervened on behalf of the settlers and threw stun grenades and fired rubber bullets at the Palestinians.
Four Palestinians were injured after being struck by shrapnel from the stun grenades and from rubber bullets, said the center.
One young Palestinian was also held and severely beaten before he was let go, it said.
