As olive harvest season begins in West Bank, Israeli settlers steal Palestinian crops

 

NABLUS, October 4, 2018 (WAFA) – As Palestinians embark on picking their olives, considered one of the main income-generating seasons for thousands of Palestinian families in the occupied West Bank, Israeli settler were seen on Thursday stealing their olive crops.

According to Yehya Qadoos, head of Burin village council, settlers sneaked to land belonging to farmers in the village and stole their olive crops.

He said the land belongs to a number of village residents and amounts to dozens of dunums in area.

Burin is located near Hawwara Israeli military checkpoint, south of Nablus, where illegal Jewish settlements were built.

The Palestinian Authority set October 10 as the official start day of the olive harvest season in the West Bank.
