Israeli settlers attack Palestinian vehicles on a northern West Bank road

NABLUS, Monday, March 11, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli settlers attacked last night Palestinian vehicles driving on a northern West Bank road, according to Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors Israeli settlement activities in the north of the West Bank.

He told WAFA that Jewish settlers set tires on fire to block a major road between Nablus and Jenin and attacked Palestinians commuting on that road where an Israeli settlement was once located and evacuated in 2005.

He said settlers have escalated their attacks against Palestinians and their property in that area.

Yesterday, settlers proceeded to level a large tract of land in the village of Jalud, near Nablus as a prelude to take it over and expand their illegal settlements.

Israeli settlers’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

Settlers‘ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.
