SALFIT, Sunday, January 26, 2020 (WAFA) – Israeli forces demolished today a water collection well in al–Zawiya village, to the west of Salfit in the occupied West Bank, according to local sources.
Mohmoud Muqdadi, head of al-Zawiyah village council, told WAFA that Israeli forces accompanied by bulldozers raided Sirisya quarter in the village and proceeded to demolish the well, owned by a local Palestinian villager, on the pretext of being built without an Israeli permit.
Using the pretext of illegal building, Israel frequently demolishes houses and other facilities in the occupied West Bank to restrict Palestinian expansion and development.
Israel prevents Palestinians from collecting rain water, which it normally collects in underground aquifers in the West Bank that are under its control.
