Officially, Palestine is not going to the Manama meeting

RAMALLAH, Thursday, May 23, 2019 (WAFA) – Saeb Erekat, secretary general of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), announced today that officially Palestine is not going to the US-sponsored economic meeting planned to be held in the Bahraini capital, Manama, later in June.

He said in a statement: “We officially announce that Palestine is not going to attend the Manama meeting. This is collective Palestinian position, from President Mahmoud Abbas and the PLO Executive Committee to all Palestinian political movements and factions, national figures, private sector and civil society. We reiterate that we did not mandate anyone to negotiation on our behalf. Those who want to serve the interest of the Palestinian people should respect this collective position. Palestine‘s full economic potential can only be achieved by ending the Israeli occupation, respecting international law and UN resolutions.”
