High school student among eight detained from West Bank

 

NABLUS, Tuesday, June 25, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli forces detained in overnight raids at least eight Palestinians, including a high school student, from various parts of the West Bank, said the Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS).

In the northern West Bank, Israeli forces detained three Palestinians after storming their houses in Jamma‘in town, southwest of Nablus.

Meanwhile, a Palestinian was detained as he attempted to cross an Israeli military checkpoint  near Haddad Tourism village, southeast of Jenin city.

Another Palestinian, identified as a resident of Kafr Dan village, northwest of Jenin, was detained in the vicinity of Taybeh military checkpoint, to the furthest northwest of Jenin.

In Ramallah district, WAFA correspondent confirmed an Israeli military raid in Nabi Saleh village, northwest of Ramallah, resulting in the detention of a 17-year-old high school student.

In Jerusalem district, an Israeli military force detained two Palestinians during an overnight raid that triggered confrontations in Qalandiya refugee camp, north of Jerusalem.

Besides, an Israeli military raid was conducted in Qatanna town, northwest of Jerusalem, where soldiers ransacked a resident’s house and seized the sum of 50,000 shekels (approximately $14,000) in cash.

In Bethlehem district, security sources confirmed an Israeli military raid in Aida refugee camp, north of Bethlehem city, resulting in the detention of a Palestinian.

Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.
