JERUSALEM, Sunday, October 20, 2019 (WAFA) – About 400 hardcore Jewish settlers, heavily guarded by Israeli police, broke into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound on Sunday, according to Jerusalem’s Islamic Awqaf.

It said that the fanatic settlers have been entering the holy mosque in groups since early morning, noting that they went on provocative tours through the Muslim holy site.

Last week, Temple Mount extremist groups called upon fans to perform provocative tours to Al-Aqsa, on the pretext of celebrating the Jewish holiday of Sukkot.

The Islamic Awqaf said more than 2,700 extremist settlers broke into the mosque since the aforementioned holiday began last week.

Settler incursions into the mosque compound coupled with the takeover of church property in Jerusalem are perceived as part of the plan to transform a multi-religious and multi-cultural city into a “reunified” Jewish city under the exclusive control and sovereignty of Israel.
