The Palestinian team came second after Japan in its group with four points after drawing with South Korea with one goal each and losing to Japan, last year’s U-23 champion, one goal to nothing.

The Palestinian team scored the first goal 15 minutes into the game and then scored three more  goals in the first half, while Thailand scored its only goal one minute before the end of the first half.

In the second half, Palestine’s performance with four goals to its credit dropped. Nevertheless, the Palestinian team was able to score its fifth goal in the game in the 88th minute.
