RAMALLAH, February 1, 2018 (WAFA) - Communication officer at the European Union, Shadi Othman, said on Thursday that the European Commission has allocated over €14 million to support projects in Israeli-occupied East Jerusalem, 40 percent higher than the previous amount allocated for preserving the Palestinian existence and identity in the holy city.
Speaking to Voice of Palestine radio, Othman said the additional budget allocations to East Jerusalem sends a significant political message at this time given the Israeli occupation practices aimed to obliterate Palestinian presence and were a clear demonstration in terms of EU’s efforts to preserve the two-state solution.
