NABLUS, January 2, 2018 (WAFA) – Jewish settlers set up on Tuesday tents on Palestinian land that belongs to Deir al-Hatab village, east of Nablus, which is seen as a nucleus for a new settlement in the area, said a local activist.
Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors settlement construction in the northern West Bank, told WAFA that settlers from the illegal Elon Moreh settlement set up tents on a land in Ras al-Ein, an area east of the village, and fenced it off.
Settlers have frequently attacked local Palestinian farmers in Deir al-Hatab, dumping sewage at farmlands and restricting farmers’ access to their lands.
They have also regularly attacked Palestinian olive harvesters during the harvest season, stolen their crops and chopped down olive trees.
