JERUSALEM, Monday, November 26, 2018 (WAFA) – The Israeli Supreme Court Monday rejected an appeal filed against the extension of the detention of the governor of Jerusalem, Adnan Ghaith, who was detained by the Israeli authorities on Sunday.
Lawyer Rami Othman early Monday filed an appeal against the Israeli authorities’ decision to extend Ghaith’s detention until Thursday, under the pretext of continuing investigation.
Ghaith was detained on Sunday during a predawn Israeli military raid on his home in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan. No reasons were given for the arrest.
Meanwhile, Jerusalem Magistrate‘s Court rejected an appeal submitted against the Israeli authorities’ decision to extend the detention of 30 Fatah officials, who were detained overnight during a large-scale detention campaign across the Jerusalem area.
