Israel bans entry to pro-Palestine British activist

RAMALLAH, March 13, 2017 (WAFA) – Pro-Palestine British activist and Chairman of the UK-based Palestine Campaign Solidarity organization, Hugh Lanning, has been denied entry to Israel by the Israeli authorities, the Israeli Public Radio said on Monday.

The decision to ban Lanning from entering Israel was taken after consultations between the Ministry of Strategic Affairs, the Population and Immigration Authority and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to the radio.

The radio said Palestine Campaign Solidarity, chaired by Lanning, is one of the biggest pro-Palestine and anti-Israel organizations in Europe.

This comes shortly after the Israeli Knesset recently passed a law that bars foreign boycott movements and pro-Palestine activists from entering Israel.
