RAMALLAH, June 8, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Wednesday detained 16 Palestinians, including at least a minor, mostly during overnight raids into a number of West Bank districts, said Palestine Prisoner’s Society and security sources.
Five Palestinians were detained from Ramallah and al-Bireh districts, three others from Jenin district, another from Qalqilia, two others from Jerusalem, two others from Bethlehem and three others from Hebron.
Forces detained five Palestinians from the central West Bank districts of Ramallah and al-Bireh. The detainees were identified as Mahdi Rayyan, Muhammad al-Liftawi, Eyad Fawaqa, Mahmoud Srour and Abdul-Karim Rimawi.
In Jenin, forces handcuffed and detained Mahmoud Abul-Kamel, 25, as he was stopped at a military checkpoint at the entrance of Ta‘nak village, west of Jenin city.
They also detained Mahdi Dheyab, 22, and his cousin, Muhammad, 23, from the vicinity the separation wall in the northern West Bank district of Tulkarem.
Also in the northern West Bank, forces handcuffed five Palestinians from the Qalqilia village of Hajja, detaining one identified as Nabil Bataha, 20, and releasing the others.
Meanwhile, police detained Nour Othman and Omar Bassa from Jerusalem district.
To the south of Jerusalem, in Bethlehem district, forces detained Muhammad Thwabteh, 17, after storming and ransacking his family house in Beit Fajjar town.
Another Palestinian from the town was detained after he turned himself to Israeli intelligence in the Gush Etzion detention and interrogation center. He was identified as Muhammad Taqatqa, 19.
To the south of Bethlehem, forces raided Hebron’s Old City, where they handcuffed and detained Alayyan al-Rajabi, 20.
Two more Palestinians were detained from Hebron. They were identified as Omar Shawer, 20, and Sharaf Zaheda.
