HEBRON, Wednesday, February 12, 2020 (WAFA) – Israel continued its war against Palestinian construction in Area C of the occupied West Bank with the issuance of new demolition orders against homes in Tuwani village in Masafer Yatta complex in the south of the West Bank, according to a local activist.
Rateb Jabour told WAFA that an Israeli army force handed four Palestinian residents of Tuwani demolition orders against their homes under the pretext they were built without permit.
The orders will displace the families currently residing in these homes, he said, who are mainly women and children.
At the same time, the soldiers commandeered a truck loaded with steel bars intended to be used for construction, said Jabour, and took it to a police station in a nearby settlement.
Israel is trying to empty Area C, which makes more than 60 percent of the area of the West Bank, of its Palestinian residents in order to later annex it and build Jewish settlements there.
