Israel to demolish residential structures near Hebron

HEBRON, November 19, 2017 (WAFA) – Israeli authorities notified Palestinians about a decision to demolish residential structures and animal barns in Masafer Yatta area, to the south of Hebron in the occupied West Bank, according to local sources.

Rateb Jabour, who monitors settlement activities in the area, said Israeli forces handed a written notice to locals informing them about their intention to demolish a number of residential structures and a barn used for raising livestock in Kherbet Shaab al-Butum, a village in Masafer Yatta area. The barn was built with funding from the European Union.

On August 14, Israeli forces demolished three European Union-funded homes in the village of Khashm al-Darj in Masafer Yatta.

The EU has strongly criticized Israel’s demolition of structures it has provided to Palestinians in Area C as part of its humanitarian assistance program.
