RAMALLAH, Monday, 13 April 2020 (WAFA) – Israeli forces detained early today a former Palestinian lawmaker from Jerusalem after raiding his Ramallah-area home, according to the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS).
The army raided the home of Mohammad Abu Teir, 68, in a Ramallah neighbourhood and detained him.
Abu Teir, from occupied Jerusalem, was elected to the Palestinian Legislative Council in 2006 on a Hamas-affiliated list. He was however arrested by Israel, sentenced and then deported to the West Bank after his release. He served a total of 34 years in Israeli prisons for resisting the occupation, the most recent was seven months in administrative detention without charge and trial.
The soldiers also detained two other Palestinian men in their early morning Ramallah raid, said the PPS.
