RAMALLAH, Thursday, November 29, 2018 (WAFA) – Marking the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People on Thursday, the Palestinian government called on the international community to work hard toward implementing international resolutions and law that demand an end to the Israeli occupation and enable the Palestinian people to regain all their legitimate rights.
Government spokesman Yousef al-Mahmoud said in a statement on Thursday that the international community must go past remembrance of the Palestinian tragedy and move toward enabling the Palestinian people to establish their fully sovereign independent state on all the Palestinian territories occupied in 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He said the international community bears an important part of the responsibility for the continuation of the occupation and its crimes and atrocities against the Palestinian people, their land, property and holy places.
“International silence on what the occupation government is committing in our country encourages it to commit more crimes and continue to implement its policies that violate international resolutions and laws,” he said.
Mahmoud called on the international community to work valiantly to end the last occupation in history in order to establish the foundations of justice, peace, security and stability in Palestine and the world at large.
