BETHLEHEM, January 19, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Tuesday sealed off the main entrance of the town of Janata to the east of Bethlehem, with earth mounds.
Security sources told WAFA that army soldiers blocked the town’s entrance with earth mounds, in the aftermath of an alleged stabbing attack carried out by a Palestinian youth against an Israeli settler from the illegal Israeli settlement of Taqou.
Since early October 2015, Israel has intensified its security procedures across the West Bank, including Jerusalem, as tensions and violent unrest continued to engulf the area; triggered by Israel‘s repeated attempts to temporally divide al-Aqsa mosque compound in Jerusalem.
The almost daily intensified checkpoints and repeated closures have suffocated Palestinian towns and villages; tremendous traffic jams and delays to daily livelihoods have been witnessed across the West Bank since the beginning of unrest in early October.
