RAMALLAH, Thursday, December 06, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Thursday set up an iron gate at the entrance of Deir Abu Mash‘al village, north of the West Bank city of Ramallah, said a municipal source.
Deputy Head of the Village Council Fawaz Barghouthy told WAFA that a huge crane, heavily protected by Israeli forces, set up the gate at the main village entrance, which connects the village to Road 465, which leads to Ramallah.
This came a day after Israeli forces installed a similar iron gate at the main entrance of the nearby Aboud village.
Israeli severely restricts Palestinians’ freedom of movement through a complex combination of approximately 100 fixed checkpoints, flying checkpoints, settler-only roads and various other physical obstructions for purported “security reasons”, an act widely condemned by human rights groups as amounting to collective punishment.
