PARIS, June 15, 2017 (WAFA) – France condemned on Wednesday an Israeli decision to build 3000 new housing units in illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank.
A French Foreign Ministry spokesman said Paris has a fixed and clear position on settlements.
He said that at a time when the peace process requires efforts from all, these decisions considered illegal by international law send a negative message that harms prospects for a just and lasting peace.
France also expressed concern over the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
“France is following with interest the situation in Gaza, which continues to deteriorate in the absence of a permanent political solution and insists on improving the situation there, especially on the humanitarian level.”
