JERUSALEM, Saturday, March 30, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli police banned three Palestinian women and a man from Al-Aqsa Mosque, a Muslim holy place in Jerusalem’s Old City, after holding them for hours, according to local sources.
The women, mothers of Palestinians incarcerated by Israel, participated yesterday after the Friday prayers in a rally at the Mosque in support of the prisoners.
Police grabbed them as they were leaving the walled holy compound and kept them at a police station at Jaffa Gate for several hours before setting them free late at night with a ban from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque compound for two weeks.
The man, a Jerusalem activist and member of the committee of families of prisoners, was also detained yesterday as he was leaving the holy mosque compound.
He was held for several hours before he was also released late last night and ordered to keep off Al-Aqsa Mosque for one week and to return to the Jaffa Gate police station after that for further orders.
