Israeli Forces to Demolition Commercial Structures in Jenin Village

JENIN, February 16, 2016 (WAFA) - Israeli forces Tuesday delivered demolition notices for seven commercial structures in Barta‘a Ash-Shaqiya village, southwest of Jenin, in the northern West Bank, said a municipal source.

WAFA reported on Tawfiq Qabaha, member of the local municipal council, that a large number of Israeli troops stormed the village and handed six villagers orders notifying them of plans to demolish their commercial structures.

Qabaha explained that the structures would be demolished purportedly for unlicensed building.

He added that the facilities slated for demolition include a marble slab factory, a stone-cutting factory, a park, a stove factory, a gas station, a gas cylinder store and a chicken farm.

The owners were identified as Walid Ajaj, Imad Dawawbna, Ahmad Assaf, Jawad Yousef, Ayoub Qabaha and Kamal Qabaha.

Israeli forces have occasionally demolished commercial structures in this village.

According to a report on Israeli Violations in the occupied Palestinian Territories over the period June 13, 2014 to April 15, 2015 by the Applied Research Institute of Jerusalem, Israeli bulldozers razed three commercial structures, including a 650 square meter factory under construction, in August 2014 and March 2015.
