HEBRON, Tuesday, January 08, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli settlers Tuesday uprooted and chopped 30 olive trees to the east of Yatta, south of the city of Hebron in the south of the occupied West Bank, according to Rateb Jabour, a local activist.
He told WAFA that settlers from the illegal Israeli settlements of Maon and Havat Ma‘on uprooted and chopped the olive trees belonging to the Rabie family, noting that the trees were there for over 30 years.
He said that uprooting olive trees has been frequent in that area as part of a plan by the settlers to make life difficult for the Palestinians in order to get them to leave it and expand their settlements built illegally on Palestinian lands.
Olive harvest is a main source of income for thousands of Palestinian families in the occupied West Bank.
