Spokesman: As four new corona cases confirmed, premier to announce new stricter measures

RAMALLAH, Saturday, March 21, 2020 (WAFA) -  Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh is going to announce tomorrow new stricter precautionary measures to confront the spread of the novel coronavirus disease, Covid-19, in Palestine as four new cases of the disease were confirmed today, according to government spokesman Ibrahim Milhem.

He said at the daily briefing on the coronavirus developments in Palestine that the four new cases are for three Palestinian students who study in the United Kingdom and live in Ramallah – two males and one female –and have just returned home from abroad.

The fourth is for a Palestinian physician from Hebron who contracted the disease while working at Hadassah Ein Karem Hospital in West Jerusalem.

The four, he said, were admitted to the treatment centers each in their area of residence.

With the recent four, the total number of coronavirus cases in Palestine has reached 52 and include 17 people at Angel Hotel in Bethlehem who have recovered and were sent home yesterday to a 14-day quarantine.

Among the 17, said Milhem, was the 2-year-old toddler who at one point was reported critical but has since recovered and was also sent home.

Milhem said that tests were conducted on 3945 cases in Palestine since the start of this month and that results came for 3908 cases. Results for the remaining 37 cases are expected soon.
